Shamonic_Princess

It's rare to see a "Dub That Time Forgot" make the cover. Shamanic Princess was released by Media Blasters under their U.S. Manga Corps label.  Here's their trailer for the series:The odd thing about having this title on the cover is that there's a 5 page Cardcaptor Sakura spotlight article that gives you an overview of the show. Perhaps CLAMP didn't authorize a … [Read more...] about Animerica Cardcaptor Sakura, Digimon & Sailor Moon TV – Nov 2000

CLAMP X 1999 Movie – Rintaro Interview – Gundam Wing – Animerica May 2000

animerica may 2005 cover

I'm glad that X 1999 became an anime TV series because the movie was artistically weird for me. The anime series reminded me of the X-Men since it was the Seven Seal vs the Seven Harbingers - like a mutant X-Team battling other mutants with different agendas.I included the Rintaro interview to help with understanding the movie. This was a good issue for reviews.Included … [Read more...] about CLAMP X 1999 Movie – Rintaro Interview – Gundam Wing – Animerica May 2000

Sailor-Moon-Tuxedo-Mask_February

In this issue, I included a Yoshiyuki Tomino interview to promote the domestic release of Garzey's Wing.I loved how this one starts: Animerica: How did you become an animator? Yoshiyuki Tomino: I'm not an animator. I'm a director. There's a difference. Animerica: Then how did you become a director? Yoshiyuki Tomino: It was the only job I took. Animerica: Would you … [Read more...] about Yoshiyuki Tomino Interview – Sailor Moon, Fushigi Yugi Articles – Animerica February 2000

How To Customize Anime Model Kits and Anime That Time Forgot – Animerica November 1999

Team Rocket is on the cover promoting the first Pokemon movie. I wanted to feature the article "How To Customize Your Model Kits" I have four model kits that I bought at A-Kon around 2003 that I have yet to build. It just wasn't for me as a hobby.Note to any companies with technology in your name. Don't Do It!. Case in point: the ad for LVD.com - Laser Visions Direct. "The … [Read more...] about How To Customize Anime Model Kits and Anime That Time Forgot – Animerica November 1999

Revolutionary Girl Utena – Animerica Magazine December 1998

April 4, 2013 by Lance Heiskell Leave a Comment

Revolutionary Girl Utena - Similar to Sailor Moon features, I decided to scan this first in-depth feature from this issue. It's very informative. My favorite part of Utena is the beginning sword fight song and the stairs. Lots of stairs. Best watching experience for Utena to me is still the metaphor-laden movie. Here are some more highlights from this issue: I scanned the … [Read more...] about Revolutionary Girl Utena – Animerica Magazine December 1998

Practice Makes Awesome

A Few Tips Upon Reading

First off, find a secluded area and pour yourself a beverage of choice. You must cleanse the palate to take in the delicacies of the nostalgia I'm about to throw down.

Second, if it’s cold where you live, grab a blanket, maybe two. If at all possible, sit down while reading. I hate standing, never stood for it, never will.

Finally, see if you can find the encrypted message left in the third magazine post.
