Animerica – Moldiver, Genocyber, Homeroom Affairs – F3 – October 1994

I don't remember Moldiver. Is it worth a watch? The award for "PLEASE! Don't BUY Me!" goes to US Manga Corps' Genocyber. WTF?!?!I like the retail ads in this issue. HAMS in Westfield, IN has a ad selling anime 20% off. That's quite the statement given that most mail order and retailers back then sold at full SRP (Suggested Retail Price)The Tokyo Television Report … [Read more...] about Animerica – Moldiver, Genocyber, Homeroom Affairs – F3 – October 1994

Animerica – Project A-Ko – Planet Anime – Mail Order – September 1994

Here's a crutch you have to deal with if the Japanese licensor only provides very few promotional images/covers for the international release. This doesn't happen as often now, but it still exists. Here's what I'm getting at. Look at the cover and look at the back cover ad for the A-Ko Screensaver, the table of contents image and the first page of the cover story feature. … [Read more...] about Animerica – Project A-Ko – Planet Anime – Mail Order – September 1994

Animerica – Akira – Anime Soundtracks – Japanimation – August 1994

March 26, 2012 by Lance Heiskell 1 Comment

This issue is all about anime soundtracks - (not to mention having Akira on the cover to get additional sales.) For awhile, I was heavily into soundtracks - Hellsing TV and Noir were in CDs that were in my car constantly back then. Now, I fast-forward the opening and endings to get the show. I try to make use of the time I have allotted to watch anime. Sure I love music, but … [Read more...] about Animerica – Akira – Anime Soundtracks – Japanimation – August 1994

Practice Makes Awesome

A Few Tips Upon Reading

First off, find a secluded area and pour yourself a beverage of choice. You must cleanse the palate to take in the delicacies of the nostalgia I'm about to throw down.

Second, if it’s cold where you live, grab a blanket, maybe two. If at all possible, sit down while reading. I hate standing, never stood for it, never will.

Finally, see if you can find the encrypted message left in the third magazine post.
