This is the ad I’ve been waiting for. Voyager Entertainment’s ad for Star Blazers. The interesting part is that 17 years later, their current Star Blazers ads in Sci-Fi magazine look very similar to this one.
CPM was ahead of their time in the 90’s. The had Record of Lodoss War and La Blue Girl in Quicktime video format. Many, many, many years before iTunes and Digital downloads.
Actual sentence in A.D. Vision’s adult label SoftCel Picture’s ad: “Armed with lance, bow and a pair of magic pussy-willows, Mai, Ai and their must defeat this oversexed fiend and his army of sexy slaves…or die trying!”
Saving the best two for last:
The very first Manga Video ad in the US. Featuring Appleseed and Macross Plus. Notice the English dub VHS cost $14.95 and the English subtitle cost $24.95. This is a trend you will see for a few years until DVD format enters the market. $10 premium!
