It still amazes me how much text copy goes into a US Manga Corps ad. Detonator Orgun takes it to new heights.
My favorite ad is AnimEigo’s ad for the Bubblegum Crisis – The Screen Saver. You got all the Knight Sabers as screen savers with a bonus of music videos from Hurricane Live 2033. I would have definitely bought this. This was around the time the After Dark screensaver craze was still popular. I had on for Bloom County with Bill and Opus and one with Hanna Barbara which was mainly all the HB sound effects for your computer.
The rest of the ads are from A.D. Vision and surprise! Sex crazed ads.
Just take a look at “End of Summer.” No wonder the early 2000s still fighting off the stigma of Anime = Porn. Almost half of the shows released in the mid 90’s were hentai or crossing that line.
