Animerica – Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory – March 1993

February 19, 2012 by Lance Heiskell Leave a Comment

4 months after the Number 0 premiere issue, Volume 1, Number 1 of Animerica was released. Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory is the cover. I really like how the first issue dropped you into anime fandom. If you were already familiar, there were in-depth interviews with creators and directors. If you were new, there was always paragraphs in each article which acted like a roadmap. For example this issue had a three page timeline of the Universal Century for Gundam.

In each issue, there were two manga features. This issue has the starting chapter of Mermaid Forest (with uncensored mermaid! – on newstands!) and AD Police.

Practice Makes Awesome

A Few Tips Upon Reading

First off, find a secluded area and pour yourself a beverage of choice. You must cleanse the palate to take in the delicacies of the nostalgia I'm about to throw down.

Second, if it’s cold where you live, grab a blanket, maybe two. If at all possible, sit down while reading. I hate standing, never stood for it, never will.

Finally, see if you can find the encrypted message left in the third magazine post.
