Orge Slayer was on this cover this month. As this project goes on, there are so many titles that I didn’t know existed in the 90s.
Now that I know that Gall Force was some of the same team behind Tenchi Muyo, I now have to find it and watch it.
For Pioneer Ads in 1995, the level of quality greatly differs from issue to issue. I could have done the ad layout for this Hakkenden VHS ad using Microsoft Word -No use opening Photoshop – a few quick columns and image inserts and poof! There’s your ad.
Here is the first article mentioning Ghost in the Shell – with promo art. Manga Entertainment even has a website listed to view clips – This was 1995 so those must have been some Quicktime thumbnail video files that must have taken 2 hours to download. BUT IT MUST HAVE BEEN WORTH IT!
In this month’s adult anime ad from TEC, I’m sad to say that REI REI has lost the title of best selling hentai to Angel of Darkness. Sad.
Ramna 1/2 dominates this months anime fan art section. Kudos to the Power Rangers – Power Ranma
I scanned the VHS/LaserDisc/Import Release Schedule page to show what was coming out on anime home video in September 1995. Not much LaserDisc but an increasing amount of VHS. HINT HINT – A great page to show your friends when they bitch about today’s anime prices HINT HINT
